About

A couple of bits about me

I am a developer who enjoys building things on and off the web. Aside from that I do contemplate over the world around me and the quirkiness surrounding our existence.

If you would like to know what I am currently up to, you can check out my blog loet codes where I write about my journey as a developer, lessons I have learnt and those I am un-learning. If you are so inclined, you may also check out my new blog loet builds where I just write about easy arduino projects anyone can work on.
Ocassionally I do post articles or tutorials on Dev.to, Medium and other platforms.

Details

This is an app currently in use by a client company for creating a time-based imagery viewer.
The main purpose of the app is to compare imagery on an interactive map. It features a list of imagery available for comparison, and a slider that swipes over the imagery for comparison. The user is able to select the imagery for a set of given control buttons.
Below is a public demo that is a recreation of the app using freely available imagery hosted on Heroku.

Reach out if you want to view a sample of a client's app that is publicly available.

Details

Web-based gaming project. The aim of this project was to learn more about the HTML5 canvas property with regards to drawing multiple dynamic graphics.
Staying true to the original game, this web-based version is optimized to fit any screen on initial startup, giving the player a view of the entire board at once.

Details

Blogging application built on python and the django framework in the backend.
It implements the model-view-control pattern using django's base setup in its application design. Python is used to create, read, update and delete posts in the database.
This was a learning opportunity to deep-dive into building web applications using python and django, as well as working with postgresql databases.

Details

Originally, this started out as a basic project that sought to only implement the logic behind the 2048 game and have it played on a computer's terminal. However, I decided to take it further by building a user interface, menu and theme options.

The game's square grid is optimized to self-adjust when the desktop window is resized, giving a similar experience to a web-based version, where the browser takes care of re-sizing.

Fringe Memory Game

A mini-tribute to a beloved sci-fi tv show, Fringe(2008 - 2013).

Pygame

Details

This is a desktop memory game in python.
One of the things I loved about Fringe (other than fringe science) was the weird hidden glyphs and easter eggs scattered throughout the show. Subtle differences in each glyph gave a different meaning.
The aim of this project was to learn more about using pygame. Making a memory game using glyphs from a favourite show was an easy choice.
